In January 2022, Matthew “JoJo” Moore, an original member of White Plains RFC, passed from our world after over 30 years of living, loving, and thriving since suffering a severe spinal injury in 1991 while playing in an Old Boys Rugby match that left him quadriplegic.  JoJo, a man of deep faith and humor, inspired generations of students, wrestlers, ruggers and other athletes, and showed us all how to confront the deepest adversity that a person can face with unfailing courage, humility and grace. 

White Plains RFC is determined to honor JoJo’s legacy and to pay forward the integrity and fellowship that he embodied.  The commitment to help JoJo was the glue which helped hold the Club together through some lean periods, and it is no stretch to say that there likely would be no Club today without him. 

We will be holding a Golf Day on 06 October 2023 for Old Boys to come together and share a weekend celebrating the memories of “JoJo” Moore.

The WarPigs will be playing against NYAC on 07 October 2023, where we would like to invite everyone to come and support the WarPigs.

We are excited to announce that we will be attending the Can-Am Rugby Tournament with a men’s and women’s. “The Can-Am is considered one of the largest and best-run rugby events in the world, the Can-Am Tournament was created in 1973 by the Mountaineers Rugby Club and is proud to be celebrating its 49th year. The inaugural event was an eight-team affair that quickly doubled and has since mushroomed into a mid-summer tradition with 100 +teams converging on the Adirondacks.” - Can-Am administrative.
